Baskerville Type Specimen Poster
For this project, I had to create a poster that showed off a typeface. I chose the typeface Baskerville because I love the look of the “Q” and like to use it as a serif font. Rather than designing it based off the typeface, I wanted to play with positive and negative space. I wanted to feature the “Q” as a main element because of how nice it looks and decided to do it by placing the phrase “The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.” For the poster, I needed to include the name of the typeface, the year the typeface was made, a story of the history, the upper and lower case alphabet, and the numbers. I also included the different weights of the typeface to balance out the side they are on because it would have a lot of negative space compared to the other side.
