Rise Against Expressive Type Posters
For this project, I had to create 2 posters showing different emotions from the same quote. I chose to do lyrics from the song The Good Left Undone by Rise Against for the quote of my design. I made my 2 designs based off the part of lyrics that go: “I believe in angels, not the kind with wings, no not the kind with halos.” For the first design, I went with the opposite of the lyrics meaning by shaping the quote into an angel’s wings and halo. I feel that this poster has a happy and hopeful feeling to it. For the second design, I went with the literal meaning of the lyrics. I shaped the quote into the shape of a person because a person is an angel without wings or halo. I feel that this poster has a more hopeless feeling to it. I created the clouds in Photoshop using Photoshop brushes. I arranged the type in Illustrator inside outlines of wings and a person as a guide for the shapes.
